Programs

Lakota Watch D.O.G.S.

The Lakota Watch D.O.G.S. program is in it's 2nd year and we are off to a great start!  So far we have about 70 days covered by a Watch D.O.G.S. father figure.  If you think you are able to volunteer for one day - or more - please contact Jerry Garcia at lakotawatchdogs@gmail.com

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security.  Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities.

Ideas for new programs?

We are always looking for new ways to enhance our children's education experience.  If you have any suggestions for new programs you would like to see at Lakota, please contact us!  You can email us lakotapta@comcast.net, send a note to the school, or call Tina at 206.226.9848!

We would love to hear from you!
Thank you for helping keep Lakota GREAT!

Reflections

Lakota PTA is very excited about bringing the Reflections Program back this year!  The Reflections Program is a National PTA and WSPTA cultural arts competition. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme. Themes are selected from thousands of ideas submitted by students to National PTA's Reflections Theme Search.

The 2010-2011 Reflections theme is: "Together We Can...".

A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas. Only original works of art are accepted. The six art areas are: Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, Film/Video and Choreography/Dance.
